Centaur Guitar is located at 2833 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, Oregon and owned and operated by Kelly Manahan and Jason Snell, the dueling guitarists in Portland’s very own Muddy River Nightmare Band. We’re a full service music store with great prices, friendly service, and cool stuff. We pride ourselves on being members of the community that we operate in, and know what it’s like to play a thirty-minute set at midnight on a Tuesday for fifteen dollars and a couple of free beers.

We opened our doors in April 2005 when we realized there were no stores in the area that we felt like we were a part of. While other music shops in Portland seem to be moving in a “bigger is better”, impersonal, mega store direction, we decided to open a small, community oriented, rock and roll shop.

We stock all kinds of acoustic and electric instruments and accessories and our selection of new and used gear is growing and changing all of the time. Centaur Guitar is always interested in buying or trading for your used gear. We offer great value for trade ins and are always willing to take a look at what you have to offer.

We are also an Oregon State Licensed Pawn Shop. This does not mean that you will find a guitar store full of power tools and jewelry. It does mean that if you are in need of a few extra dollars we offer an alternative to selling your gear. Your gear will be stored safely in our heated, secure storage area while we hold it for you.

All pawn transactions are regulated by the State of Oregon and we comply fully.
