New Subdecay Echobox Modulated Delay PedalIn the design of the Echobox, the fine folks at Subdecay started with a great sounding delay and piled on a slew of useful and intuitive features. The sound of the Echobox is in between a digital and analog delay but without the coldness of your average digital delay and without the clicky artifacts sometimes heard with analog delays. Imagine a warm sounding “analog-ish” delay with the control of a digital delay. The repeats degrade each time they’re recycled but without the clicks and pops caused by the noise reduction compandor circuits in older delays. Instead, Subdecay built a discrete noise reduction circuit from the ground up for their Echobox.
Do tell! Do tell!- Natural decay mode allows the echo to naturally trail off after the pedal is bypassed. (The pedal is not true bypass when trailing repeats are enabled).
- The modulation can be turned completely off, add a little warble, or take you to crazy town.
- Maximum delay time is about 800ms but the delay set over about 500ms begin to sound a bit lo-fi.
- Infinite repeats are possible and the scaling of the repeat knob can be controlled via an internal trimpot.
